Quality Music Lessons: Teaching students one note at a time

Piano Performance at Shalin Liu

Every year, Pleasant Street Music Studio piano students may qualify to perform at the Shalin Liu performance center in connection with the North Shore Piano Teachers’ Guild. Nice job Tyler!

Supergroup Week

We’re looking forward to our first Supergroup of the year this evening (5:30-6:30) and tomorrow afternoon (4:00-5:00). There are four Supergroups scheduled during the year that offer students a chance to share their love of music with each other in a fun, relaxed setting (in-studio) before the Spring Recital. Students each perform a piece,  then play games (look forward to some “Music Bingo” and “Name that Interval” this time around). Costumes are optional since Halloween is just around the corner. And of course, we will celebrate with some yummy snacks. See you soon!

Make-up lessons are also offered this week.

This Sunday, May 26th

Upcoming performance that you don’t want to miss!

See the following message

Dear Friends,

I wanted to let you know that I will be playing a concert this Sunday, May 26 at 7:00 pm at the Crowell Chapel in Manchester-by-the-Sea. Crowell Chapel is a beautifully restored building located on Rosedale Avenue near the high school. There is a beautiful Steinway piano on the stage. Parking is available on the street and in the high school parking lot.

The program includes music by Chopin, Poulenc’s Sonata with Steve Bates on clarinet, and songs by Honegger and John Duke performed with soprano Rachel Joselson. The three of us will begin and end the evening with music by Schubert and Spohr. All of us have doctoral degrees and will speak informally about the pieces and composers. It should be a very enjoyable evening. Rachel is a professor of voice at the University of Iowa in town to give master classes in Boston. Steve is a retired clarinetist with the Kennedy Center Opera Orchestra living in Manchester.

The tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students and $5 for children. All of the music is fairly short and there is a lot of variety, so kids will enjoy it too. Let me know if you would like me to put aside a ticket for you in your name.

Hope to see some of you there!
Bonnie
