Summer is a great time to make music! We offer flexible summer scheduling for private lessons in guitar, voice, piano, and violin from now to Labor day.
We also have several fun workshops to get your groove on starting the week of July 15th through August (6 weeks):
Piano for Pre-K/K (ages 3.5-6)
Kids on Keys (ages 7-12)
Voice class (ages 9-14)
Ensemble I (ages 8-12), all instruments
Ensemble II (ages 13-18), all instruments
Piano 101 (teens/adults)
Class sizes are limited to 6 participants so that we can give you the attention you deserve!
Our theme this year is “Connecting through Music.” We want to know: How do you share music? Let us know by replying to this post!#musicalconnections#sharemusic
In the studio, musical challenges are in effect, Harry Potter style: Students of all ages and instruments are part of a House, except our houses are named after musical composers (the Schumann, Joplin, Liszt, Mendelssohn, and Debussy House). You earn points for your team by connecting through music in any of the following ways:
*Perform
*Attend a concert
*Compose a song (16+ measures)
*Complete a Monthly musical challenge
*Read a book about composer, musician, band, or style of music
Some students have already been earning points for their house–keep up the good work!
Summer is a wonderful time to improve your singing or piano playing! We are now accepting new students. Come to our studio located in Manchester or enjoy lessons in the comfort of your own home. Summer also offers flexible scheduling with 4, 8, or 12 lesson package options.
Also, we have some exciting classes coming up (5 weeks, 7/11-8/8).
Piano for Pre-K/K (Pre-K/K, beginner piano), Tuesdays
Kids on Keys (Grade 1-5, beginner piano), Tuesdays or Wednesdays
Voice class (Grades 2-5) Wednesdays
Or sign up for one of our week long summer workshops in August (Monday-Thursday, 10:00-12:00 or 2:00-4:00). Prerequisite: Basic note-reading ability
Week 1: July 17-21, Pop/Rock Workshop (Grades 4-8)
This workshop combines piano and voice. Students learn how to rock the rhythm, make the tune sing, add harmony, and perform with a group. We will perform on the last day.
Week 2: July 31-August 3, Songwriting Workshop (Grades 4-8, and 9-12)
Students will create their own music and make a demo CD using GarageBand. Topics include experiencing different rhythmic meters, composing a melody, harmonizing the melody, and using chord progressions–while exploring diverse styles and traditions.
We will begin accepting new students on May 26, 2017. Purchase 4, 8, or 12 lesson packages for Summer 2017. See Summer Lessons 2017 or Contact Us for more information.
Also, new and continuing students who take summer lessons are entitled to early registration for the 2017-2018 school year.
Next group class session begins June 5, 2017. See Group Classes.
There is still time to sign-up for our next session of Group Piano Lessons. Classes start the week of November 1st. We have a couple spots left for Kids on Keys on Wednesday afternoons (3:30-4:15) and Piano for Pre-K/K on Saturday mornings (10:00-10:45). Contact us for more information!

Also, December 18-21 are “Supergroups” in the studio–all group and private lesson students are encouraged to attend.
Good news: We are offering piano and voice lessons during the summer! It’s a great time to check out a couple lessons for the first time or to dust off the old piano. Perhaps you’re an experienced musician looking to expand your repertoire. We teach piano and voice lessons to students of all ages, in our studio in Manchester, MA or in-home to many North Shore communities. Visit our Registration page or Contact us for further details. New Group Class session (4 weeks) also begins Tuesday, August 4th.
Have you picked your fall lesson slot yet? Lessons start the week of September 10th–which is right around the corner! Don’t delay or you could miss out on your optimal lesson time.
Group classes begin the following week (week of September 17).
It was the last day of Music with Ms. Alex (ages 4-7) at Manchester Public Library. Each week we travelled through time to a different composer, learned music skills, and sang both known and new songs. We hope to see you there next summer!
This video shows Ms. Alex leading a warm-up with Raffi’s “Shake My Sillies Out.” Children have fun moving with the song while warming up their bodies for singing and playing.
Ms. Alex is running a music group at Manchester Public Library Tuesdays at 2pm during the month of July for ages 4-7. Part of the library’s summer series, each music group will include singing, storytelling, and learning basic music skills. Contact Sara Collins at Manchester Public Library to register!
